Where culture happens
Steep’s Manifesto
Purpose
In a world designed to maximize productivity in the name of shareholder value. Culture is being watered down to it's most cost effective, easily digestible and marketable form. Artificially developed without a soul, cultural fast food for the masses, designed purely to drive engagement by any means necessary. Steep stands in direct opposition of this. An independent platform for preserving culture for the sake of culture. We reclaim time and memory by slowing life to the pace of human to human interaction. Defying commercialization, gentrification, and the cult of constant productivity. Through presence we turn fleeting moments into vivid, lasting stories.
Ideals
Timeless over timely
Things that will still matter in five years
Emotion over reason
If it stopped you in your tracks, that's enough
Experience over consumption
Things that ask something of you. Attention, time, presence.
Pleasure over productivity
it's not time wasted if it was enjoyed
Viscerally human
Culture that speaks to the human experience
